prolly the best realistic alternate to clan comp that is likely to succeed.

imo - I think that a season style league should be run as well so that clans can have the option to compete as a whole.

ie: OQCL season format.

Back on topic: The partners for draft idea is good, however swapping servers for each map would be hard gay (if the mode changes).

I think this is going to be a one day comp thing, with the actual seasonal comp being multiple game modes, i think this was just going to be tdm

asylum is the most hitscan-oriented ca map.. if all you're doing is spamming rockets, you're doing it wrong (and probably bottom scoring)
almost lost, hidden fortress, campgrounds = each team camps a room and spams rockets and grenades. all bad CA maps

mick's maplists are good for 3-map pools
mick's idea + cam's idea sound good combined I suppose

hidden fortress and dm6 has more strategy than open maps. At a lower level there is just camping but in a higher level there is strategising, which is fun for the players but not fun for the majority of spectators. It is why I like those maps more than asylum, it is too open and people just +fwd at you and spam rockets, or just keep doing +back and railing. Hidden fortress and dm6 is one of the few maps where you can actually strategise in CA.

er no.
i can tell you for a fact that x2 never had any strategy except "gather at x then kill people while sticking together". we also never faced any clan which had a diff strategy (that we could tell anyway).

and, fyi, pcm and other top clans, also have no strategy except "gather at x then kill people while sticking together". the most i have ever seen a clan do is assign positions at the place they gather. so 2 at door, 1 at blah, 1 at so-and-so. but apart from that, its still gather at x then kill people. feel free to name teams who use elaborate strategies, and links to vods/demos etc. id love to see.

also, what haste said is 100% true. asylum is pretty much all rail and lg, except some rockets when you gather at top and if other team gathers at top too. even then, theres pretty much as much lg as rl.

lastly, can someone please explain to me how rl can POSSIBLY be spammed in open maps? as opposed to closed maps, where narrow corridors and rooms lend to greater splash and bounce potential.

our strat is just gather at x y z a b and whoever happens to be nearest the most enemies at the start of the round gets the most points

spawn, huddle in a group, lg and rocket spam, everyone runs not to die, pull out rails and do frantic rj's everywhere to determain a round winner = CA in a nutshell
