Q. What is the betting system and how does it work?

4SG provides a fantasy betting system for users to place bets on 4SG tournament matches. Each user starts off with a balance of $10000, which can be used to place bets on matches. After a match is completed, a winner is declared and the winning bets are paid out. To be able to place bets, you must be signed up to the website/forums.

Q: How are the odds calculated?

Initially, an administrator will set the starting odds for a match and then users can begin placing their bets. The more money that is placed on a player/team, the shorter their odds become. Correspondingly, the opposition player/team's odds will increase.

Q: What happens if a team forfeits?

If a team forfeits a match then their opponent gets declared the winner, and all bets for the match are refunded. Note that this behavious differs from the old site. We have decided to refund bets on forfeited matches because it is unfair on users that have bet on the team that forfeitted.

Q: But what about both teams not showing up? Do we all lose our not-very-hard earned money?

All bets on the match will be refunded.

Q: Can I bet for/against myself in matches?

You are allowed to bet on yourself in matches; however you may not against yourself as this is considered match-fixing. Any players found betting against themselves or their team may be eliminated from the competition at the administrator's disgression, and any winnings will be reversed.

Q: What happens if I run out of money?

At the end of each season, any users with no cash will be reset to the default amount of $10000.

Q: I made a mistake on one of my bets - can I have my bet refunded?
